Since the US-China trade standoff began a few weeks back, countless editorials have been written about who has more leverage and who can hold out for longer. There are no hard conclusions and, cliched as it may sound, no winners in this battle.

Speaking with several local industry sources, this series cuts through the noise to deliver what is happening on the ground -- steel mills and copper smelters are worried, aluminum refiners not so much; propane dehydrogenation plants face shutdowns; LNG contracts are getting complicated; food security is not an issue (so far) as Brazilian production ramps up; and pressure has cranked up on the cleantech sector.
