National Women's Soccer League (NWSL)
SVP of Broadcast
Two-time Sports Emmy Award winner Brian Gordon is currently the SVP of Broadcast and Media for the National Women’s Soccer League. He joined the league in October, 2021 and oversees production for more than 150 national and 190 global NWSL live broadcasts. In 2024, he helped drive the NWSL’s record breaking media deal that increased rights 40x higher than the previous deal. He manages the day-to-day relationships with the league’s broadcast partners CBS, ESPN, Prime Video and Scripps/ION, and is an Executive Producer of the NWSL’s first ever Prime Docuseries “For the Win, NWSL.”
Prior to joining the NWSL, he was the SVP of Marketing and Media for the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee where he was the Executive Producer of more than 120 hours of Original and Live Event Programming airing on NBC, NBC Sports Network and the Olympic Channel. His team was nominated for two National Sports Emmy Awards for “Road to Rio, the Paralympic Super Trials” and the reality show “Milk Life presents the Next Olympic Hopeful.” Under his leadership and using state-of-the-art data and analytics reporting tools, the TeamUSA.org website and social media network experienced record growth in traffic, social engagement and video consumption.
Brian was also the key USOPC programming and production liaison between the USOPC, NBC and the International Olympic and Paralympic Committees, helping coordinate media, marketing and sales activations for the U.S. Olympic Team Trials and the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Brian helped produce NBC’s 2014 Winter Olympic Games Opening Ceremony and assisted with primetime programming originating from International Broadcast Center. Additional NBC productions included the Emmy Award winning broadcast of Super Bowl XLIX, Horse Racing’s Triple Crown, the Breeder’s Cup and the Premier Boxing Champions Series.
Previously as the V.P. of marketing brand content and distribution for Van Heusen and IZOD, he co-created the award-winning “Van Heusen Institute of Style” campaign starring Steve Young and Jerry Rice as well as “IZOD’s Race to the Party” campaign starring Mark Wahlberg, Mario Andretti and Danica Patrick. Brian also negotiated multi-million-dollar/multi-platform Van Heusen and IZOD media buys with NBC Sports, NBC Sports Network, and ESPN.
He worked from 2004-2010 as vice president and executive producer for the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Productions, where he produced both original and live event programming for ESPN, ABC and NBC.
As associate director of ABC Sports, he won a 2002 Sports Emmy Award for the Monday Night Football Opening. He was named producer with ABC Sports in 2002 after beginning work with the network in 1990 when his work included four Super Bowls, College Football, Bowl Championship Series and National Championship games, Indianapolis 500, IndyCar Series, NASCAR, ABC's Wide World of Sports, Horse Racing's Triple Crown, the PGA Tour, U.S. Open, British Open and PGA Golf Championships.
